Sector Overview
The ICT sector, in terms of Value Added Resellers, comprises two key players. These are Kedhlow (Gibraltar) Ltd. and Mediterranean Computer Services. They have been installed in Gibraltar for 5 years now and are accredited HP Gold Partners and Oracle Gold Partners.
The majority of employers here are in the Gaming sector, represented by firms such as 32Red, BwinParty, Bet 365, Betfred, Ladbrokes and a host of similar-sized companies. Other key employers are insurance companies (50+ here), fund and currency entities, legal and accounting professions, and also several private banks including SGHambros and Jyske Bank.
Opportunities
The key advantage is the low rate of Corporation Tax which is 10% but capped at £485,000 for companies in this sector.
Gibraltar is very much open for business and is actively encouraging new firms to set up here. It has passed the various tests for financial transparency and has worldwide accountancy and legal firms to assist in setting up businesses.
