A Year in Review 2022-2023

This is a year that has kept us busy with important events like the much awaited Trade Delegation to Raleigh, North Carolina amongst other events like our Congressional dinner, a visit from the US Embassy in London, Youth Leadership Competitions and the signing of Empower Her amongst some.

March 2022

AmChams in Europe

AmCham Gibraltar together with other members of the AmChams in Europe network showed their support by all making a donation each to help relief efforts of our AmCham colleagues, AmCham Ukraine who were evacuated quickly.

AmCham Gibraltar and its members had the pleasure of a visit by Brenda VanHorn, Senior Commercial Counselor, US Embassy, London. Brenda was in  Gibraltar on a fact finding mission after her appointment as ex-officio on the board of AmCham Gibraltar. She visited members of HM Government of Gibraltar, the University at Europa Point,  was able to enjoy a tour of the rock to learn about its history and surroundings  and hosted a wonderful drinks event at La Sala, Sunborn Gibraltar where members were able to meet her and exchange knowledge on Gibraltar and its sectors.

YAAS-Young Artists and Authors Showcase

Two students from Prior Park school were awarded an IPAD each for winning the Young Artists and Authors showcase for Sister Cities Gibraltar. The theme was "Sustainable water for all-Generation Rescue"

Transatlantic Conference in Raleigh

AmCham Gibraltar attended the Transatlantic Conference in Raleigh, North Carolina to visit state officials and governmental institutions , and some of the most prominent companies and universities. AmChams in Europe acts as a bilateral voice of American and European companies, committed to promoting trasnsatlantic cooperation. 

June 2022

Select USA Investment Summit

Select USA Investment Summit took place in Washignton DC area and Maryland. The US Embassy in London offered AmCham Gibraltar members participation at this annual conference. June 26-29 2022 where they enjoy around 4,900 attendees from 83 international markets and 55 states and territories. 

Scoobic Presentation

The electric vehicle company from Spain presented to the Ministry of transport in Gibraltar and other guests including AmCham members, the advantages of these commercial vehicles for a city the size of Gibraltar and for it's complexity on the size of its roads.

July 4th Celebrations 

July 4th Celebrations took place with our Annual BBQ at The Alameda Gardens. 

James Lasry, President of AmCham Gibraltar spoke about the importance of World Peace democracy and unity following the invasion of Ukraine. His Excellency The Governor, Minister Sir Joe Bossano and AmCham members enjoyed a great evening at the Alameda Gardens.

Youth Leadership Summit 2022

Two students and sisters from Prior Park School took part in Sister Cities International´s Annual Youth Leadership Summit and were awarded an IPAD each for their efforts in participating where they represented Gibraltar in an event held on-line. This event´s mission is to empower young people to think globally, spurring a new generation of citizen diplomats who become instrumental in promoting peace, mutual respect and prosperity. 

AmChams in Europe-Best Practices Conference, Sofia, Bulgaria

Sara Agnew, AmCham Gibraltar´s Executive Coordinator joined her colleagues from other AmChams in Europe for the annual Best Practices conference. This conference focuses on facilitating the exchange of best practices and discussing relevant issues impacting AmChams and their members.

Gibraltar Day in London

AmCham Gibraltar hosted Brenda VanHorn, Senior Commercial Counselor to join the Gibraltar Financial Services lunch in London hosted by The Hon. Fabian Picardo KC MP, Chief Minister and The Hon. Albert Isola MP, Minister for Digital and Financial Services. This gave Brenda an opportunity to meet some of Gibraltar´s top companies and execs.

Remembrance Sunday

Sara Agnew, Executive Coordinator laid a wreath on behalf of James Lasry, Consular Warden for the United States by the American Steps with His Excellency The Governor and the Chief Minister of Gibraltar, Fabian Picardo to honor the American servicemen who lost their lives in WWI and WWII.
