Drawing from past experiences where innovative ideas have boosted political campaigns in which he has been involved, Mr Verde called President Barack Obama a true entrepreneur and detailed why Hillary Clinton was unable to clinch the title of president.

AmCham Members, and Americans in Gibraltar together with members of the Consular Corps celebrated American's Independence Day at the Open Air Theatre, Alameda Gardens with a refreshing BBQ and Jazz. This was a fun, social event that was well attended.
AmCham Gibraltar hosted an educational roundtable on the topic of Philanthropy, with Randi Weaver of Good Giving Consulting, on the 4th of May at the Wessex Lounge.
Randi led a thought-provoking session about the essentials of Philanthropy: why people give and how donors, be they individuals, families or companies, can feel more satisfied about their charitable giving. The event was well-supported by AmCham Gibraltar members, including marketing managers and people focusing on Corporate Social Responsibility.

With the advent of a hard Brexit looming, the Gibraltar-American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Gibraltar), the Gibraltar-Israel Chamber of Commerce (Gibrael) and the Gibraltar Chamber of Commerce have come together to network and demonstrate unity by holding an exclusive wine-tasting event for their members at the La Sala Lounge, in the Sunborn Hotel. The event was sponsored by Savills Gibraltar. Wines were supplied by Lewis Stagnetto Ltd. and featured a talk by wine expert Kevin Aikens.
The President of the Gibraltar America Chamber of Commerce says he not at all concerned about trade links between Gibraltar and the US.
Donald Trump has declared that he wants to do away with trade deals with Europe, however, James Lazry has pointed out that Mr Trump wants to strengthen the relationship with the UK, and AmCham is close to solidifying a syndication with Amcham UK, so this could in fact be good news.
AmCham Gibraltar was represented at the "AmChams in Europe" Conference in Slovenia. This was a great opportunity for the newly accredited Gibraltar AmCham (46th AmCham) to meet their neighbouring European colleagues and participate in discussions within their best practices sessions.
The first woman in the Middle East to have won a Nobel Prize for science, has delivered a talk at the University of Gibraltar. Professor Ada Yonath researched large protein structures and received the award for her work on the structure and function of the ribosome.
